Set TeleBouncer Blocker to "CALLER ID" (if you have that service on your phone), so you're collecting the numbers as per usual, but if a telemarketer calls they hear "Put me on your Do Not Call List", which means, if they keep calling, you've got their caller ID, and now they're breaking the law by continuing to call. And any ROBO Telemarketing calls can't get put through, because a computer doesn't know to "PRESS ONE" to be put through.
On CALLER ID the phone rings, you can look at your caller ID and pick up if you know who it is, save them the trouble of pressing one to get through. If it's a telemarketer, you just smile and get on with what you were doing. I love that.
I wish there was a feature where you could program numbers you know you want to block, which would then have the TeleBouncer disconnect the call. The way it works, the device has to wait for the other party, whether ROBO or not, to hang up.
I think you can ignore a good many of the negative reviewers, I can tell they haven't read the instructions properly.

I have this hooked up to my Cisco Router and then my VOIP phone line coming in from my computer. I had some idiot who keep calling me with no one at the other end. Like my number was programmed into an autodial system. When I tried to block the number they just added a 1 in front of their call in number and I could not block 11 digit numbers through my VOIP. So this device is the only thing that works for me.
It's simple.
4 buttons with three levels. Do you want total privacy, partial privacy or no privacy? Like someone else complained it does not have a no call list. This bypassed all that technology and keeps it super simple, which thwarts the auto dial software.

This Telebouncer Blocker works as described but should have provided more options and features for the money. It is effective at bouncing calls but is difficult for people who are not technically inclined to setup. I purchased this product for my elderly mother who eventually had it removed because of the difficulty of having to tell all her friends and family of what code to enter. This is not the products fault.
